Your First Visit

The Consultation and Case History

Your first consultation will take approximately one hour, and follow up treatments are 20 minutes. We will take a comprehensive case history. This will help us in assessing your health and ensuring that your symptoms are not part of a more serious condition.

Examination and Computerised Scan

The case history will be followed by a comprehensive series of orthopaedic, neurological and osteopathic tests. This will help us to discover exactly what is causing your pain. Finally postural photos and computerised analysis will be performed to look for any postrual problems that may be leading to your symptoms.

Come Prepared

Bring any medical notes, results or x-rays you may have in your possession. We will need the full hour to complete the examination and treatment. You can also always bring a friend or partner to your appointment. We do take digital photos of your posture, if you are uncomfortable doing so in your pants and or bra, please either bring a swim suit, some shorts and a sports bra, or something you will feel comfortable with.

Your First Treatment

We will then be able to make a diagnosis and discuss the ways in which Osteopathy can benefit you. If we feel that there are no serious health concerns and that you are safe to treat, you will then receive your first treatment. Each session is tailor-made to the individual and will consist of soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, and stretching techniques, all performed gently and safely. We will then give you advice on how to continue your improvement in between appoinments. On your second visit we will review all of the exam findings from your first visit so that you understand your condition, and continue with your treatment.
